The FLOATING PALACE is a four cabin wooden houseboat with attached modern toilets and shower, two on each deck with full size double beds and cane furniture. The roof is made of bamboo matting and ventilators guide the breeze in where straw mat ceiling and coir carpets provide a mix of tradition and nature

Each deck has a dining cum drawings room in between the bedrooms. The housing incorporates sundecks on each side of the top deck, where one can sit down and relax while you watch the world go by. Hurricane lamps and unpretentious furniture keep the decor low key and light but very ethnic all the same.

The boat is equipped with proper navigational, safety and life saving equipment conforming to international standards. Mobile phone on board facilitates communication if the need arises for more beer.

The FLOATING PALACE overnight trip starts late afternoon after high tea on board and sails along the river Mandovi and its estuaries, cruising along at a steady speed, in on a hurry to reach its destination. Its sails by in a stately grace to the mouth of the river to join salty stretches for yet another amazing sunset.

The boat will be anchored for the night after sundown for a sumptuous continental dinner. So lean back, feel the back waters flow around you, watch the lush greenery on both sides of the river and nod off to sleep to the boatman’s lullaby. Next morning, after a full English breakfast, cruise along the   National Bird Sanctuary at Chorao Island &past sleepy villagers while your chef prepares your lunch. After lunch say adieu to Captain combo and his merry crew hop on to the awaiting transport that will take you back to your hotel.
