begin a tryst with Wildernest Nature Resort, one of Goa’s best
known eco-tel. Driving past the Bardez river and into Assnora
a place which gave Goa some great freedom fighters, they fill
you in on facts about the Goan way of life in rural Goa and
narrate to you, simple aspects of Wildernest and its environs.

Stop by at Ayodhya at Bicholim, a traditional pottery
studio cum family restaurant to freshen up and have a sip of
coconut water or a snack as you go through little curios made
from baked clay and mud. Bicholim is known as the pottery capital
of Goa and has produced some of the finest artisans that Goa
boasts of today.
12.00-12.30

Check in at Wildernest after a cherished drive through
picturesque settings via serpentine roads and thick forests.
Greeted by our naturalists and treated to a glass of Kokum,
our welcome drink, you are now in the company of nature at a
height of 800 meters above sea level. Walk on, as you continue
to discover nature at its best and let our naturalists show
you the path to nirvana-our eco cottages and their ultimate
luxuries.
12.30pm
A quick freshen up session, a small walk and you are at
Randhan, our in house restaurant to taste and savor authentic
dishes of the Ghats and the hinterland of Goa. Pamper your taste
buds, try something new and explore the buffet laid specially
for you in local style and manner. Served in earthen pots and
based on local produce, every meal provides healthy nutrients
to charge both body and soul at Randhan. Go ahead, and relish
our fish specialties and vegetarian secrets to your hearts contents.
Don’t forget, the fresh air would make you hungry quickly, time
and again!
 2.30pm-4.30pm
Its activity time! Let Sunanda guide you along to a Mehndi
session as she painstakingly designs your palms with traditional
rural designs and at the same time, lets the mehndi absorb your
body and relax your body. Or head towards our swimming pool
and treat yourself to an experience like never before. There’s
our resting place too, to read and relax and yes, observe nature
by our Machan or water hole. This is the time you can interact
with nature and its wonders on your own. Cloud Nine, our bar
is also open, and giving you company is Bhimnath our folklore
storyteller cum barman. And if you are one of those who want
to just unwind and relax, head back to your rooms and share
bliss with Mother Nature like never before!
4.30pm-5.00pm
The sun has mellowed down a little and cast shadows on
the surroundings. Enjoy a cup of tea or coffee in the company
of a jungle orchestra as birds sing to their hearts content
and the flavor of lemon grass tea enriches you from within.
Read a book, look into the landscape or exchange notes on nature
at leisure while local snacks are served and our naturalist
explain to you the out-door activity of the day.
5.15pm
A nature walk all planned and guided by Ramesh our young
naturalist to the highest point at Wildernest. Trek along, as
you are exposed to the realm of endemic flora and fauna and
establish a bond that Wildernest aims to build between you and
nature. Reach the summit and view the grandeur of the Goan Sahyadris,
while the sun sets for yet another day painting the sky with
hues of orange and yellow. Savor these moments as the horizon
turns a deep yellow and the calls of a sambhar in the valley
below mesmerize your natural being.
6.30pm-7.30pm
Return
back to a spot that requires no introduction. A stack pile of
wood, local veggies and lots of enthusiasm! Its time for a bonfire!
Let the flames revel in a mood that stops time form flying by
and taste local veggies as they are roasted in your presence
for you to taste and relish. Hum a tune and skip a beat, as
you are in the company of a thousand stars, clear and bright.
7.30pm-8.15pm
Head
back to your cottage for some rest or patronize Cloud 9, our
bar and narrate the days experiences to one and all. Meet up
with Nirmal Kulkarni, our resident herpetologist and get treated
to variety of tales that describe the realm of the forests of
the Sahyadris. And if you enjoy Goan culture, then the perfect
experience of a folk dance or a classical performance awaits
your presence. Let local artists perform authentic Goan dances
in their pomp and grandeur for you to be awed by their performance
and talent.
8.30pm-11.00pm
A
day amidst natural surroundings and cultural arts and its time
for dinner now! A fully laden buffet awaits you in the form
of hot piping food served with a dash of local produce as well
as a healthy diet. Go ahead, and enjoy at the Randhan in its
splendidly lit interiors and the open-air deck to truly feast
at a point that overlooks the whole of the Goan horizon at night. |
Feast
on a traditional Goan breakfast for a change. Try out various
local dishes and sprouts along with special local honey and
bread. This is nature and all the preparations are based on
health consciousness providing you an opportunity to eat to
your hearts content.
